Less is more

Thursday, 19th of November. Finding my feet in the photography game is going to be a very prolonged process. Nevertheless, the excitement of capturing that one, perfect image has engulfed my entire being. I'm looking forward to seeing how far my abilities will be stretched with my advancement in knowledge and experience, not to mention the never ending 'wish-list' I have developed over the past few months!

A grain of salt.

Saturday, 14th November & Sunday, 15th November with mild southerly winds and a small ground swell running, my freediving plans for the weekend were inevitably cancelled. So a short drive down to the boneyard proved itself rewarding with this 'Jacob Black' look-alike taking the destinations title a little too literally. Sorry Pup, but saltwater isn't all that tasty... The next day a few of us headed down to Kiama Blowhole to take on the sheer 15-20m drop off the caves entrance, with the locations usual tourists cheering us on and the testosterone bubbling we managed to throw our bodies over the edge taking the fall into the cold black water, twice. Sadly handing my camera to nathan wasn't all that good of an idea, and there are no shots to post, maybe next time eh? However I managed to snag a photo of these cars!

Looking for yourself?

The Saturday, 31st October, With unfavourable winds and visibility, spearfishing was out of the equation for the next couple of days. Photos on my mind and $11 dollars in my pocket, I made the short drive to the temperate & subtropical Minamura Rainforest. Scuffling through my pocket to pay the entrance fee was one thing, walking the mile long uphill track was another. With rolled sleeves and breathless expressions, I attempted to capture a few glistening moments in the morning sun. Hope you enjoy.

A weekend away to concentrate on my spearfishing was due. Drawing closer and closer to christmas my freezer was in desperate need of a re-fill!

The beggining of a long road.

I never actually thought that saturday the 10th of October 2009 would turn out to be an eventful day. With howling onshore winds and a very sloppy surf running, I knew I wouldn't be able to throw on my trusty hooded dive wetsuit and chase the remains of the winters fish. As I drove south looking for some snapshots to break in my cameras hymen, I fell into doubt knowing that there couldn't possibly be anyone out surfing on a day like this. I pulled onto the curb and headed out to the old faithful headland which is famously known for its slab of a wave capable of pushing even the most sturdiest of men into the faetal position. It wasn't pretty, 2 foreigners (one French, and the other South African) along with another Australian, toughed out the conditions and gave this wave a run for its money
